Hurricane in Haiti

Despite the horrific rain and sweeping winds, the Visitation Clinic has withstood the tropical storms.
The decision to build a concrete roof has proven to be beneficial.  While sheets of metal flew off the rooftop of a nearby high school, our Clinic has kept patients and staff safe, and the doors have remained open, though the roads in town have been washed away and deep mud remains.
We are thankful for Visitation Clinic staff, because each day they work hard for the people in their community.  The Clinic continues to provide care to this ravaged community despite all the obstacles they face.  We are now increasing our services by providing nutritional supplements for severely malnourished children, and water purification.  The Clinic has been asked by the Haitian government to offer vaccinations for the community, and the Ministry of Health will provide the Clinic with vaccines and supplies.  Plus, the Clinic staff will travel into the far-reaching chapels and schools in and around Petite Riviere de Nippes to distribute de-worming medications to the people on these areas.
We are now in need of funds to complete the current staff quarters to include hurricane proof roofing and solar power that has proven so effective wtih the Clinic.  The space to house our staff is badly needed, as many travel from other cities to work there.  These selfless individuals toil and labor to provide the best health care available for this community.
