Visitation Clinic staff will soon be treating severely malnourished with a food supplement known as "Plumpy Nut." This is a safe and effective paste consisting of peanuts and milk with a little sugar and vitamins and minerals. Two tubes or sachets of the supplement given twice each day to a severely malnourished child has miraculous results. In just three weeks, the child is back to health and the change in appearance is astounding. The supplement is made by a company known as Nutritset, based in France, with a manufacturing facility in the Dominican Republic. The product has seen excellent results in African countries and now the children of Petite Riviere de Nippes, in southwest Haiti, will benefit from its nutritional value. The link below is a U-tube video with Anderson Cooper from CNN, who did a segment on Plumpy Nut and its success stories.
